What were some of the problems facing women in Africa and Latin America (the developing world) in the 1920s? How common were these issues to women at this time round the world?
Social instability and the requirements of working class women, but without the benefits of being working-class/people (ie. proper wages, equal rights, etc.). Specifically, in Latin America, it is a growing necessity that women join the work force so they can bring in enough money to help the family, but in doing so, it hastened the process of integration and even though it was required, men responded quite rigidly in losing respect for their fellow women. Because they worked, they were seen as no better, worse even, considering their former role in supporting the home, and their status in religion.
